PURPOSE: A refrigerator is provided to allow a user to freely set direction of supply of chill supplied into a refrigerator compartment and to observe direction and condition of supply of the chill from the outside. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator includes an opening and closing door(10) installed on a refrigerator compartment(100) and having a long handle vertically formed on a surface thereof and an operation indicating part installed on an upper side of the handle to control the refrigerator; a freezer compartment(500) having a first refrigerating compartment(660) generating chill supplied to the freezer compartment, a conversion compartment and an ice making compartment(400) and a first chill passage guiding the chill generated in the first refrigerating compartment to the freezer compartment, the conversion compartment and the ice making compartment, both of which are placed on a rear side thereof; a vegetable compartment having a second refrigerating compartment(670) generating chill supplied to the refrigerator compartment; and the refrigerator compartment having a second chill passage(607) guiding chill supplied from the second refrigerating compartment to the refrigerator compartment and a third chill passage(609) placed on a center of a rear side of the freezer compartment and circulating chill supplied from the second refrigerating compartment in the refrigerator compartment, all of which are placed in a rear side thereof.
