The hand tool (10) has a partially transparent plastics handgrip (12) with at least one incorporated design element (14) and a functional tool element (11), e.g. a blade, secured to the handgrip via an anchoring element (13), simultaneously acting as a design element. The anchoring element may have a hole (15) filled with the plastics material for securing it to the handgrip, with a further hole (18) provided through the handgrip and the anchoring element, allowing a cord to be attached to the hand tool.
