The radial bearing for damping vibrations in a car has a metal casing (1) and an internal elastomeric component (2) which divides it into two working chambers (4,4') connected by a damping channel (9). Inserts (5,5') fitted with valves divide these into a damping chamber (6,6') and a compensating chamber (7,7'). When the vibrations are of high amplitude these chambers are shut off from each other and the damping channel becomes active. When they are of low amplitude the chambers are connected and it is inactive.
