PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shut height adjusting device in a multi-process forging press capable of setting an appropriate charging quantity even in many processes without generating detection error. SOLUTION: The forging press 5 provided with a multi-process dies is constituted of a transfer feeder 4 feeding stocks consecutively between the multi- process dies, an input side conveying device 3 feeding stocks heated in a heating furnace to the transfer feeder 4, a stock detector 6 checking whether the input conveying device 3 has fed the stocks, a controller 7 operating the shut height distance of the press, and an adjusting means adjusting the charging quantity of the slide on the basis of the signal of the controller 7. The controller 7 is provided with a stock distribution discrimination means obtaining a stock distribution condition in the multi-process dies on the basis of the signal of the stock detector 6 and the movement signal of the transfer feeder 4 and a charging quantity computing means operating the slide charging quantity of each stroke on the basis of the operation result of the stock distribution discrimination means.
