PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine an individual driver's fatigue correctly irrespectively of driving or stopping a car. SOLUTION: A driver's fatigue is determined in the following order: At first, heart rates and pulsation intervals of a driver at the time of stopping and running are calculated based on the driver's pulsation signals. Then, based on the trend of change in a distribution area with the progress of time in the event that the heart rate and the change in pulsation interval obtained as a result in such arithmetic procession is deployed in a two-dimensional coordinate and whether or not there is any instantaneous increase in the heart rate, the fatigue of the driver is judged. This process not only allows determination of a driver's fatigue irrespectively of running car or stopping it but can perform adequate measures including alarming or getting the driver up. In addition, it is also possible to determine the driver's fatigue minutely step by step from an early sign of fatigue to exhaustion. |
