METHOD OF TREATING MUD WATER CONTAINING BENTONITE, AND TREATING AGENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treating mud water containing bentonite which is heretofore discarded and disposed to a prescribed disposal plant as construction industry waste by spending a high cost. SOLUTION: This method of treating the mud water containing the bentonite consists in adding a polymer flocculating agent to the mud water containing the bentonite in the presence of (i) a calcium compound, (ii) a phosphorus compound, (iii) an iron compound and (iv) carboxyl group-containing hydrophilic polymer material and/or its hydrolysis product.
