PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dishwasher of high reliability stably securing closing performance between a washing tub and a cover body when pushing in to accommodate the washing tub in an outer case while reducing the influence of dimensional dispersion in manufacture or the amount of aged deterioration caused by thermal shrinkage in the dishwasher for washing dishes by jetting wash water from a washing nozzle toward the dishes. SOLUTION: The washing tub 21 having an opening 23 at the upper part is supported in a longitudinally movable manner in an outer case 22. The pushed-in storage state of the washing tub 21 in the outer case 22 is held by a lock mechanism 26, and a cover body 25 for closing the opening 23 of the washing tub 21 is energized forward and upward by an elastic body 11. The washing tub 21 is provided with a projecting part 27, and when accommodating the washing tub 21, the cover body 25 is pushed backward by the projecting part 27 near the lock mechanism 26 to move the cover body 25 against the energizing force of the elastic body 11, thus closing the opening 23 of the washing tub 21.
