PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an α-glucosidase gene derived from Fagopyrum esculentum to enable industrial production of the enzyme. SOLUTION: The 1st objective protein is (a) a protein having a specific amino acid sequence. The 2nd objective protein is (b) a protein that has an amino acid sequence modified by deleting, substituting or adding one amino acid or more from, in or to the amino acid sequence, and has an α-glucosidase activity derived from Fagopyrum esculentum. The 3rd objective DNA is (c) a DNA having a specific base sequence. The 4th objective DNA is (d) a DNA that hybridizes to the DNA under a stringent condition, and encodes a protein having an α-glucosidase activity derived from Fagopyrum esculentum.
