PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dental handpiece which can surely detect cutting burden imposed on a cutting tool and stop cutting when burden above a prescribed one is imposed. SOLUTION: A tool retainer 14 of the cutting tool 12 and a drive transmitting part 16 which transmits driving force to the tool retainer 14 are set within the head 11 of the dental handpiece 10. When the burden imposed on the cutting tool 12 is above the prescribed burden, slip arises between the tool retainer 14 and the drive transmitting part 16. |
