PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fibrinolysis enhancing substance widely acting on various kinds of plasmins and effective for preventing thrombosis, and a method for obtaining the same. SOLUTION: The fibrinolysis enhancing substance is extracted from NATTOU (fermented soybean), Bacillus natto or its cultured products, and has the following properties. (a) It is a peptide stable against heating at 120 deg.C for 10 min, and has no enzymatic activity. (b) It has strong enhancing activity not only on a fibrinolytic enzyme, which directly acts on a substrate, but also on plasminogen activator or pro-urokinase activator. The substance is obtained as follows: NATTOU or Bacillus natto is cultured in a commonly used proliferation medium; the cultured product containing fibrinolysis enhancing substance is collected; the obtained extraction liquid and the cultured product are concentrated and dried directly or after held at an appropriate temperature for an appropriate time; and the dried matter is purified by using one operation or a combination of two or more operations selected from the group consisting of extraction with an aqueous medium such as 50% alcohol solution, treatment with a polar organic solvent, pH precipitation, salting out, ultrafiltration, absorption, ion exchange chromatography, gel filtration, affinity chromatography and isoelectric focusing. |
