PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which can inform an abnormality. SOLUTION: A printer 10 executes print operation based on a print job and has a plurality of bins for discharging printed matters. Users are registered, respectively, in the plurality of bins and the printer 10 stores the information of registered users along with the bins. Furthermore, the printer 10 detects its own failure and when a failure occurs, abnormality is informed to any one of the computer 30 outputted a print job to the printer 10 or the computer 30 of a user set in the bin to which a printed matter is discharged based on the information contained in the print job and the information along with the bin.
