PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide both an air filter medium capable of simply housing the same into a frame material and a method for producing an air filter using the same. SOLUTION: The air filter medium is constituted by applying spacers 12 consisting of a hot-melt adhesive having tackiness at ordinary temperature to the faces of the air filter medium 11 bent into waveforms by repeating crest bending and trough bending. The air filter medium is obtained by pushing and shrinking the same in a bellows shape until the mutual spaces near to at least a fold come into contact and mutually adhere (are tacked). The former air filter medium is pushed and shrunk until the mutual spaces near to at least the fold come into contact and mutually adhere (are tacked), and this former air filter medium or the latter air filter medium is fitted to a frame material and thereby the air filter is produced.
