PURPOSE: Provided is a zinc electrode for alkali zinc secondary battery which can prevent the corrosion of collector resulting from long leaving of battery and prevent the decreasing of charging efficiency resulting from electric resistance of collector. CONSTITUTION: The zinc electrode for alkali zinc secondary battery consists of a collector having tin-lead alloy plated film(2) formed at the surface of perforated metal plate(1), and an active material layer(3) based on zinc and zinc oxide, which is formed at both sides of the collector. The thickness of the film(2) is 5-10 micrometers. The zinc electrode is produced by the steps of (i) blending 4 wt% of PTFE(binder) and water into powder mixture of 90 wt% of ZnO and 4 w% of Zn and 2 wt% of PbO(electrode additive), and compressing the blend into sheet, and (ii) positioning the sheet at both sides of the collector and rolling it to produce a zinc electrode having an alkali-resistant paper.
