<p>PURPOSE:To manufacture a varistor excellent in limit voltage characteristics and wet life characteristics easily by coating the surface of a varistor element with an Sb2S3 layer by a specified thickness or more while entirely covering the Ag electrode of a sintered varistor and then molding the varistor element with resin. CONSTITUTION:Ag electrode paste is screen printed on the opposite sides of a sintered varistor 1 and then baked at 750 deg.C for 30min thus forming Ag electrodes 2a, 2b. Flux is then applied while holding the sintered varistor 1 by means of two lead wires 5a, 5b. Thereafter, the lead wires 5a, 5b are soldered and the flux is cleaned off in an organic solvent. On the other hand, an Sb2S3 layer 7 is applied by 0.05mg/cm<2> or more to the surface of the sintered varistor 1. This method allows easy manufacture of a varistor excellent in limit voltage characteristic and wet life characteristics.</p> |
