APPARATUS FOR COOLING BILLET MOLD OF EMC(ELECTROMAGNETIC CONTINUOUS CASTING)

PURPOSE: An apparatus for cooling a billet mold of EMC(electromagnetic continuous casting) is provided which uniformly cools a billet mold for electromagnetic continuous casting certainly equipped with slits, does not deteriorate stiffness of the mold and possesses sufficient cooling function at the same time. CONSTITUTION: In a mold for an electromagnetic continuous caster on which slits are formed so that a magnetic field of an electromagnetic coil(110) installed at the outer wall of the mold is penetrated into the mold, the apparatus for cooling a billet mold of EMC comprises a plurality of main passage parts which are formed inside the mold between the slits(120); a cooling water inlet part which is formed at the inside of the lower part of the mold so that lower parts of the main passage parts are connected to the cooling water inlet part; cooling water discharge parts each of which are installed on the upper part of the mold so that the main passages are individually connected to the upper side of the cooling water inlet part; and a shielding pipe(180) which is connected from the cooling water discharge part to a discharge end(170) installed at the lower side of the mold through the outer wall of the electromagnetic coil(110) so as to have electromagnetic shielding function, wherein cooling water is flown through the main passage parts, the inlet part, the discharge part and the shielding pipe(180).
