This invention relates to the construction of a single continuous tube whi ch contains a partition arrangement that creates at least two or more separate fluid conduits within the tube, and to a method for making such a partitioned tube. Concurrent containment and transfer of such fluids as water, oil, gases, chemicals, acids and the like, by pipeline or tubing presently requires the use of a separate or dedicated tube for each transported substance. The requirement for running multiple parallel tube arrangements or bundles is inconsequential where space is plentiful, as in many above-ground installations such as refineries and petrochemical plants. However, multiple tube arrangements can be problematic, detrimental and limiting in confined spaces, particularly in deep underground facilities. For instance, in exploration and development operations in the petroleum industry, space is a critical issue in the tight confines of oil and gas wells with limited room in which to run production tubing strings and the like. Each line or tube placed into the well limits the space available for pumping oil and other fluids from great depths to surface.
