METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DETERMINING STATE OF SKIN SURFACE

A method for determining the state of a skin surface which comprises providing a piece of skin floating with its surface directed upside on the surface of a culture solution in a container, and measuring the electric potential difference between the surface of the piece of skin and the culture solution; the method for determining the state of a skin surface which further comprises stimulating the skin such as giving mechanical stimulation or adding a chemical to the skin surface; a method for determining the state of a skin surface which comprises using the potential at a hypoglottis as a reference potential; and a device for practicing the method. The method allows the determination of the state of the electric potential of a skin surface with ease and without causing pain to a man, the conversion into numbers of the sensation which a stimulation to a skin surface affords to a man, and the evaluation or development of a medicine for protecting the uncomfortable stimulation to a skin.
