PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical amplifier that can prevent wavelength dependence of gain, even if input optical power and temperature are changed, and has a small amount of power consumption, a small number of parts, and a simple configuration. SOLUTION: This optical amplifier has an excitation light control part for controlling excitation optical power, so that the output optical power of an optical amplification medium and the excitation optical power follow the relation given by a characteristic curve. In this case, a characteristic information table is prepared, where it accommodates the characteristic curve, showing the relationship between the excitation optical power of the optical amplification medium and output optical power, in a state where the gain deviation of each signal light with wavelength multiplex is fixed. |
