PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved data input means to be used together with a portable radiotelephone. SOLUTION: This device for selecting a character from a prescribed character set comprises a means for presenting a plurality of first selectable choices, at least one of which shows the subset of the character set, to a user, and an input means for selecting one of the first selectable choices. The presenting means further presents a plurality of second selectable choices, at least one of which shows the character of the above selectable choice, and the input means further functions to select a character from the second selectable choices. |
