PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convert a Japanese syllabary character string into a corresponding accurate Japanese syllabary/Chinese character, coexisting character string. SOLUTION: This converter has a dictionary, in which plural components stored with reading Japanese syllabary character strings expressing reading, Chinese character strings to which reading is added, and plural kinds of connectable Chinese character strings connectable to the Chinese character strings according to plural kinds of connection relations so as to be made correspond to each other are preliminary registered. If the Japanese syllabary character string is inputted (S1), at least one Japanese syllabary/Chinese character string candidate is generated, by using the contents of the components corresponding to the reading Japanese syllabary character string in the dictionary, which matches with a clause Japanese syllabary character string for each clause of the inputted Japanese syllabary character string (S2-S4). Afterwards, Japanese syllabary/Chinese character string candidates, mutually connectable among the clauses, are extracted according to the connection relations as for the respective generated clause Japanese syllabary/Chinese character string candidates (S5). Then, the extracted clause Japanese syllabary/Chinese character string candidates are mutually connected among the clauses, and are outputted as the converted result. |
