PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light image projection system in which an intereferometric modulation(IMOD) device with reduced heat generation is employed. SOLUTION: A glass substrate 1 and a heat conductor 7 are fitted in common to pixels 9a, 9b, and 9c. Consequently, the substrate structure is simplified. Since the heat conductor 7 is arranged on the flank of a resonance layer 5 the aperture efficiency of a display device tends to decrease, but the decrease in the aperture efficiency can be suppressed by employing a linear structure. Further, circuits for driving the respective pixels, etc., can be arranged on the flank of the resonance layer 5.
