PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for volume holograms, which does not require stages fort dissolving in a solvent and drying in forming a recording layer, and to provide a volume hologram recording medium using the same. SOLUTION: The composition for volume hologram recording, which records the interference fringes generated by coherent light by differences in refractive indices contains (a) an acrylic multifunctional monomer having a specific structure, (b) a polymerization initiator which initiates polymerization of the multifunctional monomer (a) and (c) a sensitizer which activates the polymerization initiator (b) and the volume hologram recording medium, using the same.
