PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxide superconductor, in which an oxide superconducting layer of the required composition is generated by suppressing crystallization of unwanted compounds and a high critical current is shown, even when technology is used, in which the constituent element of the oxide intermediate layer is added in the molten liquid. SOLUTION: In this method, an oxide intermediate layer 2 is formed on the base material 1, made of a high melting point metal and a solid solution layer 4 having the same structure as that of the oxide superconductor substance, containing the oxide intermediate layer constituent element is formed on the oxide intermediate layer 2. Furthermore, an oxide superconducting layer 5, having peritectic temperature lower than that of the solid solution layer having the same structure as the oxide superconductor substance is formed on the solid solution layer 4 which has the same structure as that of the oxide superconductor substance.
