PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side ditch block which prevents secular degradation in draining ability. SOLUTION: A number of side ditch blocks are serially connected together along a drain direction A1 to form a drain 32 in a wall 31, and one of external side surfaces 31a thereof makes contact with a pavement body. Each block is comprised of a recessed groove 33 and a groove 35. The recessed groove 33 is formed in the one external side surface 31a, extends in parallel with the drain 32, and has a first water flowing passage formed therein. The groove 35 connects the recessed groove 33 to the drain 32, and forms a second water flowing passage which introduces drainage flowing through the first water flowing passage 33a into the drain 32. The groove 35 is formed in end faces 31b and 31c of the wall 31 of each of the serially connected side ditch blocks 11, 12, and 13. Herein, the recessed groove 33 has a groove 33b formed therein at a lower portion of the first water flowing passage, for retaining solid matters in the drainage.
