PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rod drawing apparatus small-sized, light to be suitable for carrying, and having strong drawing force. SOLUTION: This rod drawing apparatus 1 is intended for drawing a rod R penetrating the ground for measuring the static penetration resistance of earth of the ground to determine the hard or soft degree, degree of compaction or constitution of an earth layer. The apparatus is provided with a freely vertically movable weight part 2 penetrating a ground part of the rod R penetrating the ground, a freely vertically movable drawing main body part 3 penetrating the upper part of the rod above the weight part 2, an engagement member 5 capable of freely stopping the drawing main body part 3 on the rod by energizing force of an energizing member 4, a bar member 6 for pulling the engagement member 5 in the direction of releasing from the engagement with the rod R against the energizing force of the energizing member 4, a lifting member 7 for raising the weight part 2 to collide with the drawing main body part 3, and an abutting member 8 provided on the drawing main body part 3 for pressing the engagement member 5 to be strongly engaged by the rod R when the weight part 2 is caused to collide with the drawing main body part 3 from below by the lifting member 7.
