COLD-SETTING COATING COMPOSITION

A cold-setting coating composition characterized by comprising: a main ingredient (A) which is a solution of a silicone oligomer having an average structural unit R<1>nSiOx/2(OH)y(OR<2>)z (wherein R<1> is C1-3 alkyl, vinyl, or phenyl; R<2> is C1-3 alkyl; and 0.8 0, and z > 0, provided that y + z = 4-n-x); and a hardener (B) which is a solution obtained by compounding M<1>(Che)p(OR<3>)q (wherein M<1> is a metal having a valance of 3 or higher; Che is a chelating agent; R<3> is C1-4 alkyl; p=1; and q=2) or a partial hydrolyzate thereof with a volatile acid and an amine-type silane coupling agent. The composition has a long pot life and a short tack-free time. It cures at ordinary temperature and can be applied in situ. It forms an organopolysiloxane coating film having excellent chemical durability.
