PURPOSE: A digital broadcasting receiver is provided to enable a user to receive and listen to an MP3(MPEG Audio Layer-3) file by embedding the function of an MP3 player in a digital broadcasting receiver. CONSTITUTION: A digital broadcasting receiver comprises a tuner(11), an IF(Intermediate Frequency)(12) converting the tuned digital broadcasting signals to IF signals, a channel decoder(13) decoding the IF signals, a TS demultiplexer(DEMUX)(14) separating video, audio and other data from the demodulated signals, an A/V(Audio and Video) signal processing units(15) respectively restoring video and audio data, an MP3 sampling unit(23) sampling MP3 data from the data signals, a data storage(24) storing the sampled MP3 data, a control unit(22) playing back the MP3 data by operating an MP3 player program, a GUI(Graphic User Interface)(21) performing interface between a user and the control unit, and a display control unit(25) outputting the played back MP3 audio and digital broadcasting signals restored by the A/V signal processing unit for the user. Therefore, a user listens to and watch the MP3 file played back without a separate player. |
