MANUFACTURING METHOD OF L-RIBOSE USING 1,4-LACTONE

PURPOSE: Provided is a method for effectively manufacturing L-ribose which is useful for the development of novel antiviral pharmaceuticals, by using 1,4-lactone. CONSTITUTION: The manufacturing method of L-ribose of the formula(1) comprises the steps of: reacting a compound of the formula(3) with the secondary amine of a compound of the formula(4) then reacting the resultant compound with a compound containing a sulfonyl group of the formula(5) to convert chirality of carbon at number 4 of a compound of the formula(3) and obtain a compound of the formula(6); reducing the compound of the formula(6) to DIAL-H then reacting the resultant compound with a compound of the formula(7) to obtain a compound of the formula(8); reacting the compound of the formula(6) or (8) with periodate then reducing the resultant compound to DIBL-H or NaBH4 to obtain a compound of the formula(9) respectively; and hydrolyzing the compound of the formula(9) to obtain L-ribose of the formula(1).
