PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture hydrogen cyanide by the method enhanced in efficiency of a reactor with respect to the ammonia amount to be used and enhanced in yield by optimizing the educt gas ratio and increasing the oxygen content at the same time. SOLUTION: The molar ratio of oxygen to nitrogen in the educt gas component is made to satisfy the relational expression: [O2]/[O2+N2]=0.25-1.0.
