PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To Provide a pigment-bearing phosphor slight in pigment coming off, uniform in pigment adherence thereto, slight in overcoating in forming a coating film and excellent in coating characteristics, and to provide a method for producing the above phosphor. SOLUTION: This pigment-bearing phosphor is characterized by bearing a pigment via a 2nd coating film comprising a mixture of gelatin and gum arabic on a 1st coating film comprising a mixture of gelatin and gum arabic and formed on the surface of phosphor particles.
