PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic body holding device capable of suppressing as much as possible the deformation of a magnetic body caused by the holding of the magnetic body when the magnetic body is held in order to cut the magnetic body. SOLUTION: This magnetic body holding device HS1 for holding the magnetic body in order to cut the magnetic body comprises a base HB1 and magnetic projections PF which switch a state of generating the magnetism on a surface on the magnetic body side on the base with a state of generating no magnetism and have an abutting part PT provided on the surface on the magnetic body side on the base and abutted on the magnetic body. Elasticity is given between the base and the projections, the abutting part is protruded from the surface on the magnetic body side on the base, and the projections can be put into a linear motion substantially in the direction orthogonal to a plane formed by arbitrary three points present on the surface on the magnetic body side on the base.
