PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a headgear for a pitcher wherein a protection shell body is elastically deformable in expanding or contracting so that the shell body can be fitted on the various sizes of heads, so that cracks in the shell body or a buffer material can be prevented, by increasing amounts of elastic deformation of the shell body. SOLUTION: Adjacent ends of a rear shell body 1 covering the back of the head of the human body and a left and right side shell bodies 2 covering the sides of the head of the humane body are fixedly connected to form a protection shell body A, having a nearly C-shape in plan view along the head of the humane body. Buffer materials 4, 5 are attached to the inner sides of the shell body 1 and the shell bodies 2 to allow elastic deformation at each of the connection parts of the body 1 and the bodies 2. Further, a mount part 7 of length adjustable belt 6 is formed at the top of the front end side of each shell body 2.
