PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for oxidizing a sulfide bond of a heterocyclic compound having a (halo)alkylthio group with microorganisms. SOLUTION: An oxide of a sulfide bond having a heterocyclic group is produced by treating a heterocyclic compound having a (halo)alkylthio group with the cell of a microorganism capable of oxidizing sulfide bond and/or a treated product of the cell.
