PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a by-wire system vehicle shift lever device with a small size and a light weight having an excellent operability. SOLUTION: The by-wire system vehicle shift lever device is provided with a shift lever 2; a lock release switch 3 provided on the shift lever 2; a position sensor 5 for outputting a position signal corresponding to an operation direction and an operation amount of the shift lever 2; and an actuator 9 for loading an external force to the shift lever 2 corresponding to the position signal. When the shift lever 2 is operated from a specific shift position previously determined to a specific direction without operating the lock release switch 3, the actuator 9 is driven to load an external force in a direction opposite to the operation direction to the shift lever 2 and an operation to another shift position of the shift lever 2 is forbidden. |
