The invention relates to a fabrication unit, suitable for the production of linear transfer and special machines by means of various arrangements and sequences of differently equipped individual units, which permits the automatic complete machining and checking of workpieces, in particular, of precision short turning pieces. The workpieces (14) to be prepared travel by a number of cutting and/or measuring tools (2) in the X-Z plane from three sides for machining and checking. The numerically controlled X and Z axes are used for work piece transfers, all necessary adjustment, advancing and retracting motions of the production and checking operations, the automatic manipulation, the convoluted onward transport and the workplace transfer to the next unit up until leaving the machine, without the need for a workplace exchange and transport system. In the Y, B and angled directions, additional cutting tools (18) are arranged which carry out partial operations on moving or stationary workpieces (14). |
