PURPOSE: An electronic commerce system and method at local area are provided to obviously show specification to desired goods and selects more excellent goods with reference to the specification. CONSTITUTION: A consumer terminal(100) is installed in the home of a consumer and inputs and outputs information of goods. A provider terminal(400) is installed in a store of a provider and informs demand items. A provider information process unit(200) connects to the consumer terminal(100) and the provider terminal(400), transmits information corresponding goods to the consumer terminal(100), receives information to request goods from the consumer terminal(100), converts received information, and transmits converted information to the provider terminal(400). A transaction information process unit(300) receives transaction approval or exception from the consumer terminal(100), stores the received transaction approval or exception, and transmits the transaction approval or exception to the provider terminal(400).
