PURPOSE: A method for installing a program through the Internet is provided to decrease a time and a manpower necessary for distributing software in a company or a group by installing the software using an installation manager program supplied by a server manager. CONSTITUTION: A server manager constructs a classification menu according to software using a program of an installation manager. Related information including a name of a software and an installing program(SETUP.EXE) corresponded to the menu is inputted. An environment file(CONF.INI) is stored in accordance with the inputted information. A user connects to a service server through the Internet and executes the installation manager. A sharing directory of the server is connected to a specific drive of a user PC. The environment file is read on the connected drive. A software list is displayed on a user's screen. The user selects and executes software to be installed, and the corresponding software is installed on the user PC.
