PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic component mounter and a mounting method, in which quality, corresponding to mass production, can be ensured by eliminating opportunity losses in production processes. SOLUTION: In an electronic component mounting line, where a plurality of electronic component mounters are linked, when a production tact time detected at the tact-detecting section 7 of each mounter delays over a preset variation width, a tact time alteration signal is delivered to other electronic component mounter on the upstream side/downstream sides linked through a communication section 8. Upon receiving the tact time alteration signal, other electronic component mounter alters the operation tact time to a slow rate tact pattern, corresponding to a quality preference mode. Since the tact time for all mounters, constituting the mounting line, can be matched with tact variations due to delay of tact time in any one of the electronic component mounters, quality corresponding to the tact time can be ensured. |
