PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sodium-sulfur battery without generating local corrosion at a bottom part and a bottom cover of a positive electrode container, even if the battery is used as a battery over a long period. SOLUTION: In the sodium-sulfur battery which brings a tip part of the positive electrode container 2 into contact with a peripheral edge part of the bottom cover 1 and is assembled by being welded in a plate thickness direction of the positive electrode container 2, a corrosion-proof layer 3 is formed up to a lowermost end of an inner peripheral surface of the positive electrode container 2, thickness at the inside of the battery of the bottom cover l is larger than that of the peripheral edge part receiving the positive electrode container 2, a center part of the bottom cover 1 is formed into a recessed shape of a circular-arc shape in cross section and a corrosion-proof layer 4 is formed on a surface within the battery of the bottom cover 1 and a surface in contact with the inner peripheral surface of the positive electrode container 2.
