PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device that can make the device thinner, that has a mechanism capable of adjusting the inclination of a total reflection mirror in three axial directions, and that shows no change in the lapse of time in the inclination of the total reflection mirror. SOLUTION: The optical pickup device is equipped with a total reflection mirror 2 for making an objective lens deflect a laser beam, a holder 10 for supporting this total reflection mirror 2, and a pickup housing 13 for installing this holder 10. In the case of mounting the total reflection mirror 2 on the holder 10, the holder 10 is provided with a spherical part 10d that is situated on both sides of the total reflection mirror 2 and that is composed of a part of a spherical face. In the pickup housing 13, a spherical seat 13b is provided which comes into slidable contact with the spherical part 10d of the holder 10 and which is composed of a part of a spherical face rotatably supporting the holder 10. The center of the spherical face of the spherical part 10d and that of the spherical seat 13b are nearly coincided. Then, the holder 10 is mounted on the pickup housing 13 in the manner that the reflection point P of a laser beam in the total reflection mirror 2 roughly coincides with the center of the spherical face of the spherical part 10d. |
