PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounter and a mounting method of an electronic compo nent, in which pickup errors and recognition errors can be prevented even for a microsized electronic component. SOLUTION: In a method for picking up an electronic component Pm by a suction nozzle 7a and mounting it on a substrate, a positional deviation d at the forward end part of the suction nozzle 7a from the center line of rotation of the nozzle CL is measured previously and stored. At pickup time, the position of the suction nozzle 7a is corrected by the amount of rotary positional shift d, before the electronic component Pm is picked up. At imaging and recognizing of the electronic component Pm held by the suction nozzle 7a from below, a recognition object region in an acquired image is set based on the rotary positional shift d. According to the method, errors in pickup and recognition errors caused by positional shift can be prevented. |
