An image storage server comprises a control section, which accepts the setting of the condition for utilizing the image storage server from a user's terminal connected to the Internet. This utilization condition of the user of this server is stored I a user data table. The control section receives image information under this utilization condition via an interface from an image pickup device connected to the Internet, and the image information is stored in an image storage section. The control section provides the image information stored in the image storage section via the interface to the user's terminal. The user who wants use a remote monitor system can build the remote monitor system only by preparing a monitor camera, connecting this camera to the Internet and registering the utilization condition in the image storage server.
