The roll-over protection system has a roll-over protection element housed in a guide fixed in the automobile and held on a stowed position against the force of at least one deployment spring, via a spring-loaded restraint latch (17), cooperating with a restraint hoop (18), released via a pyrotechnic release element (19), acting on a pin which in turn acts on a distance piece (24)for release of the restraint.
