PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for providing a customized product and service using cosmetic data through the Internet is provided to enable a web service operator to effectively recommend a cosmetic product and service suitable for a customer's personality by judging the customer's taste and characteristic related to a beauty culture. CONSTITUTION: A customer connects to a homepage(S200). A customized product and service provider checks whether the customer is a registered member(S205). In case that the customer isn't a registered member, it is judged whether the customer wants to become a member(S210). In case that the customer wants to become the member, basic member information is inputted and stored in a member database(S215). The customer inputs an ID and a password(S220). It is judged whether the customer participates in a cosmetic research(S225). In case that the customer doesn't participate in the research, it is judged whether the customer agrees on the research(S230). Questions of the research are provided to the customer(S235). Information on the customer's taste is fetched(S240). Recommendation rules are obtained from a recommendation rule database(S245). The priority of product information is determined(S250).
