PURPOSE: A method for tension of a shadow mask is provided to maintain an initial tension of the shadow mask without change at high heating process since the shadow mask is heated and tensed. CONSTITUTION: A shadow mask(1) is mounted on the tension device. The shadow mask(1) is heated by a hot plate(31) with a temperature in the range from 500 to 700 °C and expanded. The shadow mask(1) is tensed by the tension device with keeping the heat. A frame is lifted toward inside of the tension device. And then the shadow mask(1) is welded to the frame. The hot plate(31) is removed, and the shadow mask(1) and the frame are cooled at room temperature.
