PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head gasket capable of minutely adjusting a difference in steps between primary beads and secondary beads to obtain a desired seal bearing pressure and improving sealing performance against a leakage of combustion gas between a first laminated plate provided with the primary beads and a second laminated plate provided with the secondary beads. SOLUTION: In the head gasket having the first laminated plate 10 provided with the primary beads 11 sealing a hole 2 for cylinder bore of an engine and the second laminated plate 20 provided with the secondary beads 21 at inner periphery of the primary beads 11 so as to make their projecting parts face each other, a step difference adjusting layer 30 made of synthetic resin is provided in a scope from an inner peripheral side of stopper beads 21 to an outer peripheral side of the secondary beads 21 on an inner side of the primary beads 11 of the first laminated plate 10.
