PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a half-stop apparatus for operation of a self-closing sliding door, which is applicable to any sliding doors irrespective of difference in traveling mechanism, and ensures rigid holding of a door main body in process of its opening operation even if the parallelism and straightness of a rail is not sufficiently obtainable. SOLUTION: A rope R is stretched astride a door frame 1 and the door main body 2 in a manner of forming a endless loop, and a part of the rope R is fixed to the door main body 2. A clamper 20 is attached to the guide rail 3 in a manner crossing the rope R, to thereby rigidly pinch the rope R by means of its receiving roller 23 and clamping claw 24. The clamping claw 24 is formed of an elastic material. Its clamping object is the deflectable rope R, and therefore the suspending apparatus is applicable irrespective of difference in traveling mechanism of the sliding door. Even if the parallelism and straightness of the rail is not sufficiently obtainable, the rope R can be deflected to absorb positional deviation, whereby rigid pinching of the rope R is ensured.
