PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine generator to improve decorative appearance, giving an impression of a large panel, by covering the whole of the upper part of the front of a body frame by a control panel and effecting protection of the control panel. SOLUTION: An engine 3 and a generator 4 are disposed in a body frame 2 formed by bending a rod-form frame approximately along the side of a rectangular parallelepiped. A lateral frame 7 is positioned astride a space between a pair of right and left longitudinal frames 6 of which the front side of the body frame 2 consists, and the control panel 9 is mounted. In a so formed engine generator 1, the control panel 9 is disposed in a manner to cover the front of the lateral frame 7, an opening 17 is formed in the control panel 9, and a part of the lateral frame 7 is protruded through the opening 17 and frontward from the front of the control panel 9.
