PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and easily measure a surface pressure, fluctuating when an actual machine is operated, for evaluating seal performance of a head gasket in an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: This head gasket 1 with a sensor is constituted by coating a surface of a metal base plate 3 with an insulating film, arranging thereon with a wiring film 8 a sensing part 11 consisting of thin film-state resistor changing an electric resistance value in accordance with a level of pressure, in addition thereon integrally forming a sensor base plate 2 having a structure coating an insulating film and a head gasket of an internal combustion engine to be layered. Accordingly, by the thin film-state resistor assembled just under the head gasket, its acting surface pressure can be measured when an actual machine is operated. Since the surface pressure is in proportion to a cylinder pressure, even its detection can be made by the sensor base plate 2. Additionally, also deflection and a temperature are similarly detected, more accuracy can be also obtained by correcting a surface pressure signal.
