PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shield machine applicable to an FRP segment capable of reducing an amount of soil to be excavated to the utmost, at the same time, simplifying the conveyance and assembly of the segment and taking reaction force of driving force. SOLUTION: When a tunnel is excavated while lining rings inside of the tunnel with an invert segment and a plurality of circular arc-shaped segments 47, boring work is carried out while taking reaction force of the thrust of a shield jack through a plurality of steel-made thrust transferring members 35 erected on the inside of the lined segment to dissolve the lack of strength to the driving force of the FRP segment lined on the inside of the tunnel and, at the same time, an excavation diameter of the tunnel can be reduced.
